Steam's recent willingness to sell adult content has opened up a huge untapped market, and crowdfunding allows small developers to find budgets for adult games without any restrictions on taste-or, at least, not many restrictions, as Valve isn't highly selective about what appears on Steam. It feels like Subverse could only really have been made today. I think you've got to want to unlock and watch 3D animated porn for any of it feel worthwhile, but there's clearly an audience for that. Together, the space and ground combat give the player something to accomplish on the way to meeting new characters and earning more Pooter Points (look, it's what they're called). An amount of strategy was involved, and I appreciate that Lily's melee attack always does 69 damage, but my first impression is that the grid-based combat feels like a side activity-nothing I'd recommend on its own merits, especially not with favorites like XCOM and Into the Breach around. In the first missions, I directed Lily and her creatures against waves of space pirates, using the typical move, attack, and guard actions with considerations for range, environmental hazards, and protecting weaker characters. The turn-based tactical combat I found less fun. I enjoyed slipping behind asteroids to take cover from incoming energy beams, and frantically intercepting penis missile clusters during the butt station defense. The top-down space shooting is reasonably fun. There's a bit where out-of-control "fuccbotts" with "laser cockswords" attack a space station that looks like a giant ass, for example. Other parts make me think of Borderlands 3, if its sense of wackiness were entirely tuned for sex jokes. It's complex enough to include a codex, the voice acting isn't terrible (which surprised me, to be honest), and the self-referential jokes about narrative devices and sex wouldn't be all that out of place in one of the actual Deadpool movies (I will leave you to decide whether or not that's good). In short, there are bad guys who don't like sex and drugs, and Fortune tasks you with building a team of "sexy lady rebels" to fight them. Much of the opening two hours are spent watching cutscenes and listening to voiced dialogue as the lead characters are introduced and the setting is established. Otherwise, well, you play the game, which is a mix of storytelling, chitchat, and combat missions. The human characters, at least, are confident, consenting adults, described as "perpetually horny," which of course enables the fantasy of grazing among a crew of women who are always eager to put on sexual performances, even for a self-described "loser" like the Captain. Fortune, an elite hacker also introduced at the start of Subverse, does have a personality distinct from a sexual fetish, though as one of Subverse's advertised "waifus," she must join the crew eventually (I don't know what her deal ends up being, so I'll leave a question mark there). On Steam, Studio FOW describes Subverse's adult content as being fetish-oriented and "hand-crafted by a team of degenerate neckbeards," and that seems like an honest self-assessment, given that the first two sexual partners are a robot augmented for sex and a woman who mind controls pseudo-animals to fulfill her desires. bunnings topsoil We now provide an NSP file for Switch straight from our Download page. Also, there was a feature film titled The Shield of Shadow Khan, which was conformed by three of Season 2's episodes: "Shadow Khan", "Shadow Claw" and "Doom Claw". The story and characters of the animated series would be used in the Tradewest-produced Double Dragon V: The Shadow Falls, a Double Dragon fighting game released for home consoles. All of the characters introduced from the second episode and onward were original creations made for the show. By the end of the second episode, Abobo and Willy are sucked into the Shadow Mural, never to be seen again, while Billy and Jimmy join forces to fight against the series' true antagonist, the Shadow Master. Like in the game, Jimmy is revealed to be the Shadow Boss in this episode, with his henchmen being Abobo and Wild Willy, who were boss characters in the game as well. The plot of the pilot episode of the series is loosely based on the NES version of the first Double Dragon game. The futile search for their father, John Lee, was a subplot throughout the series. During the course of the series, the brothers recruited allies in their war against the Shadow Master (voiced by Jim Byrnes) and his henchmen. As a result, the Lee brothers oppose each other as adults, but Jimmy is betrayed by the Shadow Master and joins his brother as a " Dragon Warrior". The premise of the show had the protagonist brothers separated at birth, with Billy raised by an elderly martial arts master known as the Oldest Dragon, and his brother Jimmy raised by the evil Shadow Master as his second-in-command, the Shadow Boss. If you have a Google account, you can use Google Docs to upload the PDF and transform it into editable text. ThomIves I don't see a -table option for the pdftotext command on Ubuntu (version 20.09.0 by The Poppler Developers). Pdftohtml > pdfreflow > htmltotext: It removed page numbers, but still junk in header/footer. Pdfto text (or xpdf on win) is perfect for my needs. Pdftotext (with -layout): Similar, but more indents. Open a terminal and navigate to the folder via the command line (e.g., cd /Users/mark/Desktop/ocr/ocr2text) Run pip install -user -requirement requirements.txt Linux sudo apt-get install tesseract-ocr Most distros ship with pdftoppm and pdftocairo. Worst for start of chapter big letters: "T\n\nhe". If text-file is not specified, pdftotext converts file.pdf to file.txt. Pdftotext (without -layout): Not bad, bullets line up, but header/footer noise. Pdftotext reads the PDF file, PDF-file, and writes a text file, text-file. Correctly got "The" at the start of the chapter. The ones it missed are double-spaced though! Bullets don't always line up with the text. Converts most paragraphs to be single lines. "The", not "T he" or even "T he".Įbook-convert: Left in page numbers, and some hidden junk in header/footer (but no FFs). Correctly got the big capitals at start of sections, e.g. Junk that was hidden in the PDF did not get output. My second choice is ebook-convert.Īdobe: left in FF for page breaks, left in page numbers, hasn't converted headings/paragraphs to single lines, but it has fixed hyphens. The -n1 option makes sure that only one pdf file is passed to pdftotext at a time. I've been comparing the output side-by-side. xargs is often a quick solution for running the same command multiple times with just a small change each time. (I am pre-processing for text analysis experiments, not as a reader, but I think my first and second choice would be the same.) As a fan of open source (and automation) I hate to say this, but the best results I just got (on quite a large, complex PDF) were to open it in Adobe Reader, then choose File|Save As Text. Now, everytime I receive new inventory, make a sale or change up the price of a product, the ERP system updates automatically as well on Shopify and Facebook Shop.Īs a small business, there are already affordable ERP solutions that can help you have this integrations and help you to save time on updating your Excel Spreadsheets everytime you do a sell, or also to save time on the uploading and managing of products on your e-commerce store. In just a matter of 2 weeks, I set up all the nearly 170 products of the branch store that I am in charge, and in one week I built up the Shopify store to showcase online the products of my store online and on social media. Therefore, here in Mexico I decided to use Bind ERP.Īs a small business, Bind ERP was an affordable solution that I started to use. I needed a solution that helped me with a Point of Sale system, to keep track and control of inventory on an easier way, but also a system that was also connected to an e-commerce platform. If you are looking for how to do your inventory management in excel, here the team and I, created this article where you can learn about inventory management and how to create an inventory management in excel.īut I would also recommend you, that if you are planning to digitize your business and improve your inventory control processes, then analyze the use and implementation of an ERP System. I don’t think so, but it was the quick and low cost solution for a small business to have control on the inventory. We have used from manual scorecards to keep control, to later move on to the inventory management in excel.ĭoes an inventory management in excel is effective in the long run? One of the pain points that I have lived for sure in my own family business is the control of inventory. How many times have you heard, “if your business don’t adapt or innovate, it will get stuck or disappear”. In my experience, change will bring up discomfort, specially for older generations, since they have been working for years in the same way, and it might take some time to adapt or they might even refuse the new ideas, even if you give projections on income increase or savings. Or at least, we the second generation, think those ideas are for better. It is not a secret of family businesses, that some of its main struggles are the ideas that we, the second generation, bring up to the table so that the business can change for better. The business has mainly been “running as we always have done”.Īnd when it comes to the development and further improvement of a small business, the inner family fights start with the new generations ideas of “better ways of doing things”. I am part of a family business that has run for nearly 40 years. Portfolios help track a child’s developmental progress, which translates daily observations into a big-picture narrative. They encourage self-reflection from children and feedback for parents, while giving you the opportunity to highlight each child’s strengths and the efficacy of your school programs. Benefits of a child portfolioĮarly childhood portfolios serve as a collaborative tool between you, the child, and families. They’re a great way to track each child’s progress over time and highlight your curriculum and activities to your families. This is one of the most significant ongoing projects you and your staff will undertake, as portfolios require regular maintenance. For example, a child portfolio may contain a picture of a child grasping a pencil at the beginning of the year and another picture of their pencil grasp at the end of the year, demonstrating how they have mastered this skill over time. Each item should be carefully included to reflect each child’s development and growth. The portfolio can be a digital collection of records or a physical portfolio, or a combination of both.Ĭhild portfolios can contain items such as photographs of the child engaging in activities, recordings or descriptions of conversations, anecdotal observations from teachers, or art samples and drawings. It provides a unique account of each child’s development and contains important milestones such as the important skills they’ve learned, the ways they learn, and how they interact with their peers and their environment. Child portfolios showcase the unique accomplishments and progress of each child in your early education setting. On the one hand, they could have simply shipped a full-blown 3D modeling tool like Blender or Maya with the game, and let players create anything their minds could think of. Getting this to work was a challenge from both a game-design standpoint, and a technical one.įrom a game-design perspective, the designers had to find a balance between two extremes. Without further ado, let’s get started.įirst, let’s take a look at modeling – the creature creator allows players to sculpt a huge variety of creatures, from simple worms to incredibly complex, realistic monsters with hundreds of separate components. Basically, this video was really difficult to make, so if you could leave a like, comment, share, or subscribe to this channel, I would really appreciate it. That’s because a lot has happened while I’ve been working on this video, including moving to a new apartment, getting Covid, discovering a blood clot in my lungs, and having a minor existential crisis. But how does any of this actually work? Let’s find out by exploring the modeling, texturing, and animation of the player created creatures in Spore.īefore we get started, some of you may have noticed that it’s been a while since I’ve posted on this channel. Spore’s creature editor lets players craft custom creatures that they can actually control as playable characters in the game. In Spore, players can guide the evolution of a species of creatures from the cell stage to a galactic civilization, but the part of the game that stands out the most to me, and I think most players, is the creature creator. Let’s talk about Spore – the 2008 life simulation strategy game made by Maxis Studios and designer Will Wright. I just find it funny that arguably the most reliable source to get the game isn't that at all. What’s up designers, and welcome back to Rempton Games. I'm not even that hardcore of a gamer, so I don't even have a lot of EA hate going through me. Maybe it works and is good quality, maybe it doesn't. Unfortunately, the only analogy I can think of is that relying on EADM would be like me trying to buy a bootleg DVD off the street. I'm not saying that you shouldn't get a product you paid for: you damn well should. Methinks that EA figured out when the demo leaked that there would be people coming in droves to get the CC based on how many creatures the leaked demo splashed up on Sporepedia, so they decided to try to reinforce their servers and even that couldn't handle it, hence the delay. I can wait that long considering that I will still get a good almost 3 months of use out of it before the game drops.ĭirect2Drive isn't that bad because they're a lot more reputable in most ways, but EADM is trouble, and I'm not surprised that the server died. That alone is worth me waiting until today at 2 pm (Circuit City stores have posted that they are supposed to be on shelves at 2 pm today) or tomorrow (Target, Best Buy, etc.). The only reason I said anything is because the leaked free version is readily available without having to jump through hoops and go through EADM's bullshit. I won't be buying the full version through the online store, that much I'm sure of. That's even assuming their systems work PERFECTLY! I am perfectly content to drive and pick it up from the retail outlet of my choosing. I'd feel so much better having an actual copy of the game. I still don't understand WHY people would possibly use EADM or Direct2Drive to get it. Some will be stronger, but the game will reduce the frequency of them. Since there's a cap on attack level at the start (5 max per attack type, 50 health), no creature will be too overpowered. The tie-in with the game is (I'm guessing) that the creatures you create will be in the environment as predators/prey/scavengers, and on other planets as well. The 'cost' in dna is still pretty mild, and is probably around what your creature in the game will accumulate. There's no 'cost' limit for these - the only limit is the complexity, which is there purely so each creature can be stored for under 8kb. Or is there some mechanism to limit them rather then make it a full blown creature sandbox, sans restrictions ? I would submit that many of our creatures are invalid for the final game due to the fact that they would 'cost' way too much. and that is just more parts / options? There is no tie in to the final game with regards to advantages, etc that our creature would have ? Query: So, we get the full creature creator.
